Job Title: Housekeeper and Lodge General Support

Function: To assist where needed at our outdoor adventure resort.   Main duties of this role is housekeeping in the lodge and serving in our café/ dining room. The position requires someone who smiles easily and will provide superlative guest service. Attention to details is critical.

While efforts will be made to keep this position at 40 hours/week, there may be busy weeks when hours are longer, and flexibility is critical, as demands fluctuate depending on how many people are staying at the lodge.  Persons hired for these positions must have a positive attitude about doing a variety of work and being a strong team member.

Duties include, but are not limited to (not in any particular order):

  1. Housekeeping in our eight log cabins and three “glamping” tents.
  2. Assures quality of food and prompt service times.
  3. Helps prepare and prep daily for upcoming meals and big events.
  4. Will keep cabins and restaurant to HIGH cleanliness standards. 
  5. Keep dishes done daily and keep dish area clean and sanitary.
  6. Responsible for maintaining health department standards.
  7. Uses checklists provided DAILY.
  8. Cleaning cabins and glamping tents as needed.
  9. Working in the front dining room area.
  10. Welcoming lodge guests, assisting with check-ins.
  11. Providing superlative guest services when lodge guests have requests or needs.
  12. Shuttle driver if needed, occasionally.
  13. Attending weekly staff meetings.
  14. Continually checking grounds and property to insure guest safety and pleasant experience.
  15. Attentively and joyfully attending to guest needs.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned

Performance Standards:

Employees are evaluated on their thoroughness in performing duties, attitude, punctuality, dependability, ability to operate as a team player, initiative, mature judgment, relationships with co-workers, management and guests, flexibility and willingness to learn.  

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the lodge manager. 

Qualifications:

Previous experience in the hospitality business including Housekeeping and Serving. Must have a professional attitude and be willing to learn and accept new ideas. Initiative is highly valued. Must be able to work long hours during rush periods and not be subject to burnout and moodiness. Must work well under pressure and be a team player.

Schedule: This is a full time salaried position starting after mid-May and lasting until Mid Sep or as negotiated on the Job Agreement.  Special occasion days off and special needs must be negotiated prior to signing a job agreement in order to be guaranteed. We attempt to give two days off each week, but they will likely not be consecutive days and some weeks there will only be one day off during the peak season. Vacation days are not available from mid-June to latter August.

Physical Requirements- Able to lift 70 lbs or so
