Idaho summer vacations on the Clearwater River is like paradise on earth. Gentle breezes, clear pristine rivers and mountains carpeted with thick green forests create a Rocky Mountain Garden of Eden. Flowing from the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, the diamond-sparkling water of the Selway and Lochsa is so clear you can see their gravel bottoms 20’ down. Salmon and steelhead still spawn and migrate to and from these healthy and pure watersheds. The Selway and Lochsa come together just six miles upstream of River Dance Lodge and form the Middle Fork of the Clearwater, which flows by River Dance Lodge and then continues on to join the Snake River some 90 miles downstream. The mountains and rivers together provide an endless variety of outdoor activities for your Idaho summer vacation including rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, huckleberry picking, hot spring soaking and much more.
Few people realize how heavenly summer is in Idaho. Our weather is typically hot and dry. Day time temperatures range from 80-95 degrees Fahrenheit, with nights cooling to 55-60 degrees. We sometimes get an afternoon shower, and rarely an entire day of rain – we are in the Rocky Mountains after all. The water temperature in the Clearwater River ranges from around 68 in early July to 78 degrees from late July to mid-August, and then starts to gradually cool down again. These are fantastic temperatures for swimming and playing in the river.
We offer two options for your all-inclusive summer adventure vacation in Idaho. One is a Sunday to Thursday stay and the other is a Thursday to Sunday stay.
