In 1968 Congress passed the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act that protected several rivers around the country that had outstanding wilderness and/or water quality values. Included in this original elite group was the Middle Fork of the Clearwater and the two rivers who join to create her, the Lochsa and Selway. ROW is proud to offer fly fishing trips on both the Selway and Clearwater and rafting on all three of these National Treasures.
Lower Selway River
Flowing through the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area, the Selway River is one the most protected and sought after river destinations in Idaho. ROW Fishing Adventures has access to the lower 18 miles of the river, where it then joins with the Lochsa River. The Selway receives little fishing pressure throughout the year, and the wild cutthroat and rainbow trout give our guests quite a thrill. Floating a river like the Selway allows fishermen to truly appreciate what fishing may have been like when the West was first settled.
Trips on the Selway run from early spring through the month of October.

Middle Fork of the Clearwater River
Running from the Selway/Lochsa confluence down to the town of Kooskia, ROW is able to offer fishing on one of the finest stretches of water on the famous Clearwater River. Like the Selway, these trips are primarily operated out of our River Dance Lodge. You can expect lots of dry fly action on this river. If you are a steelhead aficionado, we offer early and late season guiding opportunities out of our River Dance Lodge. Steelhead in the Clearwater often grow up to 15 pounds, with some weighing in over 20 pounds, and it is quickly becoming one of the most productive steelhead rivers in the Northwest.
The best months to fish the Clearwater are June and July. The water begins to warm in August, causing the fish to head up the Selway and Lochsa rivers. Trout fishing then picks back up in mid September and stays productive through the middle of October. The Steelhead run often begins in late October and runs through late February.
