9:00 am – Meet at the ROW Adventures outpost building for today’s activity choices.
Adventure Series: You can raft the Lochsa again if that’s your preference (based on space availability at time of your reservation). Or, if you were on the river yesterday, perhaps today you’ll want to choose a hike or bike ride? Bike rides vary from fairly level dirt roads to steep and rather extreme single track riding. Hikes also vary from fairly level trails to others that are steep and more demanding.
Explorer Series: Depending on road conditions and whether or not enough snow has melted, one option would be a drive followed by a short hike to an active fire lookout to enjoy incredible views over the Bitterroot Mountains. There are several other great options for today, including a van-based tour with short walks, focused on the local history of the area including the Nez Perce and early pioneers. We’ll head down the road and start with a visit of the small town of Kooskia and the nearby Nez Perce site of Clear Creek. Then we visit Heart of the Monster, where according to Nez Perce tradition, they were created. We’ll visit a number of other sites in Kamiah, learning about the rich culture of the Nez Perce and stories of early homestead days in the area.
Lunch will take place during your activity.
3:30- 4:30 pm (depending on activity) Return to the lodge. Rafting photos and fun in the Syringa Café.
6:30 pm – Appetizers at the Syringa Café.
7:00 pm – Dinner served. Evening free around the campfire or soaking in the hot tub of your private cabin.
Sunday
9:00 am – Breakfast and check out. Please have your cabins empty so our house cleaning crew can get to work. If you want to extend your time in the area, you could sign up for another day rafting the Lochsa or an optional morning or full-day horseback ride before heading to your next destination. You are also welcome to extend your stay based on availability.
